Humanity-less

When someone goes to check on Inferna in the morning, she's gone. She's seen on security footage leaving the building alone, wearing a hoodie she stole from Clio.

. . .

Last Night…

Scark came to a skidding halt, his eyes widening at the gruesome massacre before him. Bodies littered the streets in various states of mutilation and in the middle of it all laid Inferna covered in blood and guts. He glanced around, before making quick strides towards her prone form. The sound of a thumping heart and a hushed, panicked voice caught his attention. Following the sound, his nostrils flared when he saw a mortal peeking around the corner of a nearby alley.

"Come on, come on," she cried, as she tried to dial her cellphone with shaking hands.

"Shit," he cursed. The last thing Inferna needed was the police showing up. He zipped over to the woman in a blur. He wrenched the phone out of her hands and chunked it, before muffling her scream with his hand. "Look at me! LOOK AT ME!!" he commanded her, nodding his head as she gazed deep into his mesmerizing eyes. "Yes, that's it. Now listen to me, and listen carefully. You saw nothing, and you will go home as if nothing happened. Understand?"

He released his hand, as she nodded her head. Stepping back, he watched as the woman went on her way. He let out a breath that he hadn't realized he had been holding, "Crisis number one averted."

He jogged back over to Inferna. He spun around in a circle, checking the exteriors of the buildings. By some miracle there didn't appear to be any security cameras in this area. He turned back to his queen. Bending down, he scooped her up in his arms. She let out a groan from the movement. "Come on, you hot mess. You're safe now."

. . .

The Next Morning...

On the news, there's a story about a massacre in a remote part of downtown. It's believed to be an animal related incident due to the state of the bodies. There were no survivors…

Scark and Inferna were holed up in an abandoned warehouse a few blocks over. She was still rather tired from her eventful night. He scrolled through the contacts in her phone, contemplating who he should call. He wasn't too keen on taking her back to the castle just yet. He paused on a name: Thanatos, the God of Death.

"Why the hell is he still in your phone?" he grumbled. He glanced back at her, before glaring back down at the phone. A sly smirk came to his features as he deleted the contact. "Oops."

He scrolled through a few more times, before finally deciding on Eros, the God of Love. He clicked the call button and brought the phone up to his ear, listening to it dial…
